How to Enable your XP to Read  and Write Arabic- For Pcs only- Arabic Class webmaster

 
A. On the Browser. You must have explorer 6 and above and you do not have to do anything. Explorer 6 is designed to read Arabic automatically. If the page did not display correctly, then go to view on your browser --> choose Encoding ----> (Arabic for windows) - This should solve the problem.
 

B. On other programs:

To be able to read Arabic on other programs that does not support Arabic. your system need to be Enabled to do so. Follow me:

1. Go To start Menu

2. Choose Settings

3. Control Panel

4. Choose Regional and language option.

5. choose languages.

6. Check the box where it says: install files for complex script and right to left language.

7. The system should find them inside, if not, then the system will ask you for windows XP CD. Insert the CD and click next and the system will get the files from the CD

Note: If you have neither click here and download the font from my site and go ahead and install it then come back to do the steps. Download

8. It will ask you to restart the system (do so)

9. After you come back follow steps 1 to 5

10. Click on Details. Click on Add: a list of languages will appear. scroll up for Arabic. Choose any Arabic - all the same. You must see the key-board added in the box with the USA key board.

11. On the same window you will see at the bottom "Language bar" click on that and choose show language bar on desktop. The bar should either show next to the clock or floating on your desktop. Leave it for now :-)

NEXT

 

1. follow steps 1 to 4 in B

2. Now choose Advanced.

3. It says select a language to match the language version of the none Unicode programs. Drop the menu down and choose one of the Arabic languages. It might ask you to install files for right to left languages. Click yes install. A step which he already did but forgot (what a dumb system hehehe)

4. On the code page conversion tables make sure that All Arabic boxes are checked. DO NOT CHECK THE BOTTOM BOX enable for all users.

5. Close all windows . If the system ask you restart then do so.

Now you are ready to read Arabic on everything.

 Now how to Type.

1. You need an Arabic key board or stickers on your key board to show you the keys. If not then no problem. Microsoft is generous to give us one free. to get to the keyboard follow me:

A. Click on Start Menu then choose programs , then choose accessibility, then accessories , then choose on screen keyboard. No kidding. a key board will show up on your desktop. Now How do we make this keyboard show Arabic alphabets.

B. Remember the Language bar that is either sitting next to the clock or floating on your desktop. Find him. Drop down its menu and you will see two languages AR and EN. Change the check to AR.

C. Move the mouse over the on screen keyboard and this will change it from English Keyboard to and Arabic one.

D. Now you could type on any word document by looking at the on screen keyboard or you could click and type by the mouse.
